The Fallen Remembered
First World War · 1914–1918
When war broke out in August 1914, men from Natland and the surrounding area answered the call to serve. Many joined the local regiments — the Border Regiment and the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment — that had long recruited from Westmorland and the surrounding counties.
Not all came home. The names recorded here are those of Natland men who gave their lives in the Great War and are commemorated on the village war memorial.
