Natland

Natland is a small village and civil parish situated just south of Kendal in Cumbria, in the historic county of Westmorland. Nestled in the valley of the River Kent, the village has been home to a close-knit community for centuries.

The village centres around St Mark's Church and the primary school. Surrounded by the rolling hills and farmland of the southern Lake District fringe, Natland remains a quiet, rural community with a strong sense of its own history.

The War Memorial

This site exists first and foremost to honour the men of Natland who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars. At its heart is the work of John Chandler, a long-term Natland resident, who has spent years researching the life, service, and fate of each person named on the village war memorial at St Mark's Church.
